KOTOR and OpenGL conflict

Greetings!

I apologize in advance if this has been covered in a past thread that I haven’t read yet. I have recently installed Star Wars: KOTOR and have two conflicts appearing when the game scans hardware: It doesn’t count my RAM correctly and I have the Non-Windows Generic Driver OpenGL 1.4 needed failings. My system is as follows:

Athlon 2400+
256 DDR RAM
80GB HDD
Realtek Audio (**97 or whatever, I forget)
S3 ProSavage DDR 32MB w/ the updated driver from 3/2004
DirectX 9.0b installed and functioning
Win XP

Please help…any advice would be welcome. Thanks!

EDIT: I have also attempted to download the 1.03 patch for the game through the game launcher and also manually from two different sites supplied by LucasArts with no success as the site doesn’t respond.

I am sure it does. Your 3d chip uses 32 MB of your main memory exclusively, thats why you only can use 224 MB and not 256 MB.

As “Uh” correctly pointed out that chip is not supported by the game and dosent support vertex- or pixelshaders and hence cant support OpenGL 1.4.
The chip is way slower then current 3d hardware anyway.

If your motherboard has an AGP slot I strongly recommend a decent 3d card.

I had this same problem with my GeForce FX5200 video card! I called nVidia and they told me that my video card was overheating. I opened my case and added a fan and left it open. Now it doesnt do that any more!!! I hope this helps all of u guys out!!!
