I got Windows XP, and a GeForce2 mx 400 video card, and I have no idea what to do.

Ok OpenGL is an ‘Application Programming Interface’ (API).
So manufactures of 3D chips/cards have to provide drivers that are OpenGL compliant.
In your case you got an Nvidia based 3D card, and Nvidia supports OpenGL up to version 1.4 in their current reference driver (www.nvidia.com).
So if you download and install that driver you are all set.
One thing though, there are problems if you ‘upgraded’ your system from an existing Win9X/WinME/WinNT/Win2K to XP.
(And you have to disable any virus checker while you are installing the drivers).
