Guys have you tried looking at the README.TXT file on the CD or the one that’s installed in the directory for Medal of Honor. I dont mean to be rude but it’s the first thing I always do before I install a game. It specifically says quote "The following 16MB or greater 3D accelerators are not fully
supported and do not work properly with the game:

-3Dfx Voodoo 4 and 5
No intro movies play. Various textures are corrupted.
Breakable windows are opaque until broken. Once
broken they have a corrupted texture.
-3Dfx Voodoo 3
Various textures are corrupted. Breakable windows are
opaque until broken. Once broken they have a corrupted
texture. Transparent red bomb placements are invisible.
-3Dfx Voodoo Banshee cards
-Matrox G400 and G450
Frame rate is often below 10 frames per second even at
the lowest video settings. Level load times are longer
than normal.
-Nvidia Vanta
These older cards yield a frame rate that is often
below 10 frames per second even at the lowest video
settings.
-PowerVR NEON 250 cards:
Video Logic PowerVR Neon 250
-S3 Savage 2000 cards:
Diamond Viper II
-S3 Savage 4 cards:
Diamond Stealth III S540
Diamond Stealth III S540 Extreme
-SiS 300 cards"
This was taken directly from the readme file. Remember you should always read this file for the latest information that didnt make it into the manual before doing anything else. That way if it’s incompatible then you can take it back to the store for a refund. I know if you’re like me then you would like to have known before opening the box. It would be better if they posted it somewhere on the outside of the box but as you know that wouldnt be viable. Most stores should take it back if you tell them your system wasnt compatible after all. If they dont then raise Cain and you will usually get the stores attention. Who wants to have an unhappy customer. Remember the customer is always right at least in most instances. If you paid by credit card you can go to the credit card company and explain what happened and they will usually credit it back to your account if the store absolutely refuses to refund your money. Hope this helps. A couple of good websites to go to are http://www.atitech.ca/support/help.html http://glsetup.com/ http://www.mohaa.ea.com/ (go to the message boards. It’s sparse for information but it’s another resource that might have some valuable answers) http://eatech.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/eatech.cfg/php/enduser/home.php http://techsupport.ea.com/troubleshooting/windows/video.html http://eatech.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/eatech.cfg/php/enduser/home.php

This next link is for jazzmailman. You’re the one with the Matrox Millenium 450 video card. It says in the readme file that this is one of the video cards that isnt supported by the game and doesnt work properly. There’s also a link that has some troubleshooting that may prove useful. The link is: http://glsetup.com/ihvs/matrox/g400/index.htm
Although you said it worked fine in windows 98 I’m surprised it worked at all considering it’s not supposed to be compatible according to Electronic Arts. You might want to consider going back to Windows 98 because I’ve heard from some people that it’s the most stable OS Microsoft has ever developed. Almost everything will run on it. Others who have tried to play games in Win XP have had lots of problems with them. I’ve read a few articles online while surfing the net that support this position as well. I’m using it on my system right now and haven’t had any problems at all. Here’s a short summary of what I’ve got in gaming/all purpose system.

ECS K7VMA Motherboard
Duron 800 CPU
256 Megs of RAM
ATI Radeon 32 Meg AGP 3D video card
Sound Blaster X-gamer sound card
52X speed CD-Rom drive
30 Gig 7200 RPM Maxtor hard drive
Win 98 Second Edition

*** Note there is a problem with video cards less than 32 Megs. ***

It mentions this in the README file as well. They dont run as well as they should. The game runs and I’ve never had any error messages…yet. The only problem is I had to turn down almost of the graphic options to their lowest settings within the game to get it to run smoother. Right now I’m running it at 800x600 resolution with 32 bit graphics. If you’re going to upgrade your system then I’d recommend buying a Processor around 1.1 Megahertz or higher and a 64 Meg AGP video card. I was at CompUSA today and saw Medal Of Honor running on a new Toshiba laptop that isnt even out yet with all the settings maxed out and it was the most awesome sight to witness because it ran like a dream. Of course it was running on Intel’s latest Pentium 4 1.7 Gigahertz mobile chip with a GeForce 4 32 Meg video card so it was screaming. I’ve never seen a game run so smoothly. I’d buy the laptop but it’s way out of my price range. The retail price was $2400. Not too bad for the cutting edge if you ask me. I just wish I could srounge up the money. Anybody wanna float me a loan?

I hope this helps everyone that has problems. I’m a techie by nature and just thought I’d share my two cents worth. Good luck.
