New nVidia Drivers and Direct3D problems

I recently decided to update my video drivers and upgrade to DirectX 9.0a from 8.x… Everything was working fine with the old setup, but i thought newer = better right? WRONG. Now I can’t get Direct3D to run and even when I try to reinstall old drivers and old directX the same problem happens. Any suggestions?

First, you’re asking in the wrong forum. You should consult M$ for help. (HA HA HA!)

Second, your upgrade to DX9 is non-reversable with Win98. You only have two choices:

Try reinstalling DX9 again. Perhaps something was corrupted on download or install and your problems will be fixed. (You might also reinstall the video drivers for good measure).
Reinstall Win98 and all your apps, etc. (A fun weekend project)

Remember, Windows 98 is considered OBSOLUTE by M$. Anything you install on it at this point is done at your own risk.

Of course, if you had WinXP, you could just use a restore point and you’d be on your way… something to consider for the future.

Install Nv 29.42 whql driver AND the lastest driver for your vga chipset (Sis,Intel,Via).

OPENGL is a cross platform system
Direct 3D is Operating System dependent

Neither OpenGL DO NOT NEED DirectX to run nor Dx neds OpGL to run.

Select either the Direct3D or OpenGL Graphix then report the GRAPHIX RELATED TROUBLE…

I think DirectX 9 would run finner under Win XP so eventually upgrade to this WinDOHze version …
