running an OpenGL aplication over a network

I have several PC’s running windows NT and alphas runnning True64 Unix connected to a LAN. There are some applications on the alphas which use OpenGL. I cannot get them to display on my PCs vi the usual X-server. I get a message that says the display does not support OpenGL. I get the same message if I run remotely from alpha to alpha. Yet, the PCs an alphas all have graphics cards that support OpenGL. Only the SGI on the same LAN can succesfully display the window from an OpenGL application run remotely on an alpha.

Any ideas why the other machines cannot display the window from the OpenGL application running on the alpha?
