Problem with Ennemy Territory : Quake Wars and Quake 4 ... help ! :(

Morning,

I wanted to test those two games but i got big problems with and i think it comes from open GL … Here is my config : Q6600 / 8800GTX XFX / Asus striker / 4x1go pc6400 g.skill HZ sous XP.

I asked on game’s developpers forums but nobody was able to help me. All my windows / graphics / hardware drivers are up-to-date.

What graphic driver version do you have? It looks like the OpenGL part of the graphics driver was not installed correctly so you might try to reinstall the driver.

Your graphics drivers are not up to date.

Go to NIVIDIA’s website and download the latest drivers & install them. When you give out bad info you only hurt your chance to get a fix.

You could also try uninstalling all previous video drivers and disabling anti-virus software before installing NVIDIA’s drivers.

It will give detailed information on the gl driver it finds.

There’s an outside change that the dlload is finding some bull**** library locally in the game directory but that would have required someone to mess around with the installation or your system.

Do a find on your system for opengl32.dll to see what you find I’m not suggesting you mess with this, but if you ask someone this question again it’s useful info to have.

You need to install the latest Nvidia Geforce drivers. Nforce are the motherboard drivers.

I did it too :slight_smile: i installed the 162.15 forware (from guru3d) released today.

I checked everything, and it seems the real problem is those GL_ARB and GL_EXT files missing … is it openGL library files ?

Ok guys, here is the tip i found on nvidia’s forums :

  1. Go to the nvidia pannel, advanced view and not basic one.
  2. Go on the “manage 3d settings” tab
  3. In the line “extension limit”, uncheck the box
  4. Close and launch the game

It worked for me. Enjoy :slight_smile:

One has to wonder how that box got checked in the first place. (it is not on by default)

What the hell are NVIDIA thinking shipping this?

This should be developers only, maybe it was and it leaked hence guru3D.

Maybe he set it and when you install the new driver, old settings remain. I don’t really know.

There was the case where GL_CLAMP worked like GL_CLAMP_TO_EDGE in the past to avoid software rendering.
