can't play games

I am using Win 2k pro. When I installed Quake 3 and try to run the game, I get this error message>>

GLW_StartOpenGL()- could not load OpenGL subsystem

This happens with my other games such as Medal of Honor. I keep getting this same message whenever I try to run a game.

Here is rest of the message[before the above error is shown]>>>

WHat happend???

–thanks

It would help to know your video card… but have you tried downloading the latest drivers for said card?

I think its a Viper V550

To check what kind of 3d card you have:

click “start” -> “Run”

Enter “dxdiag” + hit the enter key or click on “ok”

Click on the “Display” tab.

There should be a label “Name” and thats your 3d chip/card.

I would also be nice if provide some data about:

-Your operating system (XP, W2K, Linux, …)
-Type and speed of your CPU
-The amount of RAM
-What kind of chipset the motherboard uses
-If your card is AGP or PCI

More details about your system will help us to corner the problem.

Correction:

It would also be nice if you could provide us some data about:

OS = Win 2k pro.
RAM = 192 MB
Video card = Diamond Viper V550
Chip type = NV4
DAC Type[don’t kno what that is]= Integrated RAMDAC

Video card type= not too sure about that.
WHen I click on the display tab[DXDIAG], I see the name of my [video] card. It may not be AGP because there is a section that says “AGP Texture Acceleration: Not Available”.
