What is the problem???
I have a Rage 2x agp.

Many has reported that if your win.ini has a line DVA=0 should it be DVA=1 or remove the line.

I have had the same problems. Try the following and see if that works.
Check your display settings are correct.
i.e. : open up display properties, click on settings, advanced then on performance. Move the slider to at least 2/3 up and try that, it worked for me.

I see from your qoute that you have version 0.28, try downloading the latest patch from any of the online gaming sites, that may also help.
