The following solved my problem with half-life…(massage: The selected OpenGL mode is not supported by your graphics card)
If you have win xp and matlab 6.5 installed there are two processes blocking opengl e.g. with counter strike…
Simply open your task manager and kick those two processes each time you wanna play!
Start your game and see if it works…
If it does: jump around and be happy (as I did and still do!!!cause I kept struggling with that prob for months… )
