Congratulations. You just took the first and most obvious step toward any graphics card problem.
I personally feel the second step is realizing your card (not you specificially) is so damn old, most of us replaced our similar card X years ago. This is especially true for Voodoo 3/4/5 users trying to play today’s first person shooters (at 480x640 and 256-colors).
