Open GL problems

I have just bought a Geforce6 grpahics card and it came with a game (Chronicles of Riddick) When I try to run it I get the error, “This application require graphics driver support for OpenGL 1.3 or higher”

I have reinstalled the driver a few times without success. Please help

My computer knowledge is pretty poor, so simple instructions please.

This comes from the game.
It is too dumb to parse correctly the Opengl 2.0 version that is supported on your card.

Download the patch 1.1 for your game, there is an US and an EU version, choose the one that suits you.

Or you may alter the declared opengl version in the Nvidia control panel, but this not recommended

see some forums here :

I’ve a question about this game also.

If it is using OpenGL, why does it let you select different shader models? Aren’t these 1.0, 1.4 and 2.0 SM options direct X?

Sorry if it’s a bit of a noobs question… but I am a bit of a noob (still hacking away at C++ but very interested in developing some OpenGL skills).

I suppose that it is because almost everyone had read something about DX shader models, at least in marketing materials about its card, and it is also more descriptive about the capabilities required from the card.
