hi i borrowed half-life from a friend. i have windows xp. i installed half life and it asked for the cd, key, so i entered it and the game started to loaded, then it said something about compatibility, so i clicked continue, then i got to the main screen of the game (that says new game, controls, options, etc…), then i click on new game, and it says “please enter the cd”, even though the cd is already in the machine, can someone please help, thank you!!

All you need to do is download the latest Half-life patch (full).
