SetDeviceGammaRamp Failed!!! QUAKEIII Arena UT

I’ve tried EVERYTHING… re-installing latest drivers, re-installing quake, etc…

This is the first time this has happened to me.
OS:W2K PIII933 512MBRAM NvidiaGeForce2GTS 64meg

I NERFED the setDeviceGammaRamp call. I don’t know how. But it happened. Gamma adjustments work fine via Nvidia setting GUI. I am in desparate need of help because right now… I’m in the dark(no pun intended). Quake runs, just really dark. I’ve tried everything that I know. Gamma adjustments via console or menu will result in the following error SetDeviceGammaRamp Failed. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry for the D-post… but I also must mention this:

I’ve been playing quake the environment as mentioned above for about 7months now. So I know it’s not the OS… but who knows… anything can be wrong at this point…
