How read a 3ds file ?

When you use 3ds max you are able to export your meshe as *.ase. I need to know how this kinf of file is structured and what are the main points for rendering a such file…thanks for your help!

frog,

ASE-files is plain ASCII-files. Save a simple objects like a cube, and open the file in a text editor. From there, you can figure out the format yourself, trust me.

ASE-files is, in my oppinion, by far the best format for 3D objects, considering how much advaced information it can contain, and how easy it is to read.
