Any performance advantages to OpenGL in general 2d AutoCAD drafting?

I work for an electrical engineering /consulting firm. We currently use AutoCAD R14 and upgrading to 2000 (R15). We do NO 3d work, no rendering, no animation of any kind. We drop 2d blocks and connect circuiting on 2d architectural floor plans. I know, not very graphic-intensive. What I want to know is whether anyone can describe significant performace gains using OpenGL drivers over traditional non-OpenGL graphics drivers?
