Most of the ATI Radeon HD xxxx cards support OpenGL 2D acceleration only for things such as viewing Blu-ray movies. Aside from this, they do not render much else in 2D and nothing in 3D.
I bet that if you play a DVD or Blu-ray on your card, you will notice the difference over other people’s computers/laptops that do not have that card.

After Effects CS4 does not support OpenGL 2.0 with my ATI Radeon HD4850 graphics card (supports OpenGL 2.1)
