Virtual Reality Chat 1.3.0 Released

Apr 28, 2008

Virtual Reality Chat 1.3 was released bringing improved 3D and 2D graphics powered by OpenGL Shading Language (GLSL). VRC is an open-source 3D application which provides text and voice chat. It uses OpenSceneGraph for rendering. In this release the quality of dynamic shadows has been improved and new widgets for distance-based voice chat have been added. Currently, new islands are constructed for the next release which make use of a GLSL-based terrain manager capable of rendering dynamic shadows. Windows and Linux based.
