Sprite Kit, GLKit, and Scene Kit—Game development with Apple

Apple has quietly begun introducing a series of frameworks that make developing games for its products easier. iOS 5 included a framework called GLKit that simplifies interfacing with OpenGL. Starting with Lion, OS X began offering Scene Kit, which simplifies the process of rendering complex three-dimensional scenes. With iOS 7—and Mavericks—comes Sprite Kit, which contains everything developers need to write a 2D game from scratch, without having to worry about learning OpenGL.

AMD released new versions of AMD CodeXL, Bolt and AMD APP SDK

The AMD CodeXL 1.3 release which includes many updates including remote GPU profiling and debugging. Bolt, an STL compatible C++ template library for creating data-parallel applications using C++ (no C++ AMP / OpenCL code required) has also been updated. AMD APP SDK has also been updated to v2.9. APP SDK 2.9 now includes 2 new features which are currently in Beta.

NVIDIA 331.20 Supports New Kernels, NvFBCOpenGL

The NVIDIA 331.20 Linux graphics driver has been released. The NVIDIA 331.20 Linux driver has a workaround to support the Linux 3.11 and 3.12 kernels along with introducing NvFBCOpenGL. The new NvFBCOpenGL is for NVIDIA OpenGL frame-buffer capturing that’s high-performance and low-latency.

GLSL Hacker is a cross platform demotool for Windows, Linux and Mac OS X and is based on popular programming languages such as GLSL, Lua and Python. The new version of GLSL Hacker brings the support of Mac OS X 10.9 (OpenGL 4), NVIDIA PhysX 3 as well as a preliminary support of Raspberry Pi.
