Ink9000 is open source software for creating non-photorealistic graphic novel style images from polygonal meshes uisng the OpenGL API. It is an exploration of using 3D graphics and image processing in support of art and illustration.  The new v1.5 adds improved navigation control, color texture support, and several new styles.
