SensAble releases new OpenGL based OpenHaptics SDK

Today’s newly announced OpenHaptics v 3.0 application developers toolkit vastly simplifies touch-enabling for Windows (and Linux, in Jan 09) computing applications. Based on OpenGL, today’s new toolkit makes it even easier for anyone with C++ familiarity to mash-up code, try out new touch-enabled ideas and create exceptionally realistic virtual environments. OpenHaptics v 3.0 includes the industry’s first haptics microAPI that encapsulates the necessary steps for haptic programming - so developers need to write far fewer lines of code, and can try out new ideas faster.
