OpenGL GPU-powered Pixelmator image editor ships

Lithuanian brothers Saulius and Aidas Dailide, have developed Pixelmator for OS X. Pixelmator exploits the graphic processor installed in Macs, offering image creation, editing and enhancement tools. The software is based on Core Image and OpenGL technologies that use Mac’s video card for image processing. Core Image and OpenGL utilize the graphics card for image processing operations, freeing the processor for other tasks.
