OpenGL based BlitzMax Coder magazine released
Jul 13, 2009
BlitzMAX, a next generation, OpenGL enabled, game programming language just release the first issue of BlitzMax Coder magazine. For those not familiar with Blitzmax, the Blitzmax homepage says “BlitzMax is BASIC…but with a few twists.” A twists it has over the BASIC I learnt: function pointers, fully dynamic arrays, inheritance and polymorphism, ‘by reference’ function parameters and lots more. With the Max2D module, which uses OpenGL on OS X and Linux and either OpenGL or DirectX on Windows, you gain an easy to use 2D command set. With the OpenGL module, you can also program directly in OpenGL, and an added module based on GLEW gives you access to all the OpenGL extensions.
