New Effects Framework for Java Powered by OpenGL
Feb 04, 2008
The new Effects Framework project provides CPU- and GPU-accelerated filter effects (blurs, shadows, lighting, color adjustment, and many more) for Java applications. This framework is one of the technologies behind the JavaFX Script runtime libraries, and is an integral part of Project Scene Graph. The implementation is based on a special compiler that generates Java code as well as GLSL (and HLSL) shaders to take advantage of GPUs when available.
