MeVisLab 2.1 features user-extensible VolumeRenderer based on GLSL
Jul 08, 2010
MeVisLab 2.1 adds full user-extensibility to the GLSL shaders of its octree-based GigaVoxelRenderer using an Ubershader approach and a modular pipleline architecture. This allows to extend/replace parts of the rendering pipeline, while reusing common pipeline stages like gradient calculation or illumination settings. MeVisLab is a cross-platform image processing and visualization application focused on medical imaging. MeVisLab makes use of OpenGL and OpenInventor for its visualization pipeline. It features a powerful prototyping environment for GLSL shaders. MeVisLab 2.1 is available as free download for non-commercial use for Windows/Linux/MacOS X, including 64bit versions.
