LightWave 3D v9 adds OpenGL API shader support, LOD control and node-based materials
Jul 13, 2006
The new LightWave 3D v9 adds anisotropic, and sub-surface scattering, faster OpenGL performance in Layout and additional OpenGL hardware shader support, enhanced subdivision surfaces for film-quality displacement mapping, normal mapping (including ZBrush support) and level-of-detail control at render time. It requires a video card that supports OpenGL 2.0 or the OpenGL Shading Language to take advantage of shaders.
