Sr. Software Engineer, OpenGL, C++

Our client is looking for a Sr. SW Engineer to quickly come up to speed with their code which is mostly in C++ with some Ruby on Rails and some SQL access. A successful candidate will help our client understand and deliver to the current needs of their customers. This means requirements gathering, cross department teamwork, feature design, good architectures sense, efficient coding and good debugging skills. Our client is a small company with many software touch-points so you must be comfortable being a generalist. This means working in areas from algorithms, database access, efficient UI design, 3D modeling and shop floor management. A successful candidate will also help our client look to the future, as they consider the best ways to leverage their software into other markets.

Experience Required

A minimum of 5 years of engineering experience in design, and implementation of large-scale software applications, with a minimum of 3 years of practical experience in C++
Experience with life-cycle software development: requirements, specification, design, testing, implementation, and debugging/support.
Ability to work independently in a small development group with minimum supervision

Skills Required

Strong working knowledge of software development methodologies and tools, including experience with automated build systems, version & project control, and memory management
Strong programming skills with a working knowledge of object oriented software system design and implementation
Strong practical experience in C++ software engineering and experience in complex software application development
Familiarity with relational databases, preferably SQL Server.
Experience with OpenGL or similar graphics APIs for 3D graphic, CAD or visualization.
Strong practical experience in Windows applications development with MSVC++
Ability to communicate easily in written and spoken English

Experience Desired

Experience working in a manufacturing company with daily customer delivery needs
Experience working in a company creating medical devices or equipment

Education Required
BS degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Scientific or Engineering discipline
