Quality engineers interested in problem solving, and hardware and software interoperability in the graphics areas in our products, and designing test plans to ensure that the products operate correctly with all hardware and software systems. They work with the latest hardware, software and devices to ensure that our software executes flawlessly. The scope of the role provides ample growth opportunities both in the technical arena as well as a technical leader, all while helping to drive increased product quality.
We are looking for talented and highly motivated individuals to join the Core Platform Quality Engineering – Multimedia and Graphics team of VMware. This is an experienced level member of technical staff position in the Quality Engineering organization. The MTS will interact with the engineers in development team and lead the test planning activities for new features in the graphics area. The responsibility includes assuring that support for graphics technologies in our products far exceeds our customer’s high expectations while also driving continual improvements in processes and execution across the organization.
1. Creation of test plans and test case definitions for new features.
2. Provide technical direction and guidance for less experienced QE engineers.
3. In-depth functional review of graphics related test plans to identify and close planning and coverage gaps
Job Requirements are:
1. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in CS/CE (preferred) or related field with at least 3 years of
industry experience
2. Subject matter expert for the graphics software stack
3. Expert level knowledge in at least one of the operating systems (Windows, Linux, and OSX) is required
4. Experienced in leading technical projects
5. Familiar with VMware products is a plus
6. Familiar with QA best practice and testing methodology
7. Experience in automation development using Java (highly desirable), AutoIt, or Python
