    3D data reconstruction

Is any software available to reconstruct a 3D data from a set of 2D jpeg images?

Maybe i'm lack of knowledge.Personally i think it's impossible.Jpg images are different from vector graphics. 3D max can use vector graphics in three views to build up a 3D model and save in the .max files. But how to extract vertex position from bitmap?

It certainly is possible; I have a friend who did his PhD on this but it is a non trival exercise. I don't know of any software package that does it.
