Red face Open Gl on RedHat 6.2 compatability

I'm told RedHat 6 supports Open Gl 3, does any one know if this is backward compatible to Open Gl 1.3? or if Open Gl 1.3 will run on RedHat 6?

It's not a function of Redhat or Linux. It's a function of which OpenGL drivers you install. Install the appropriate drivers for your specific GPU vendor (NVidia, AMD/ATI, or Intel).

And yes, if you install decent OpenGL drivers, they should backward compatible by default (i.e. compatibility profile).
