    OpenGL Wiki Account Creation

Looking at the frequency with which new user accounts are created in the Wiki, I can't help but feel that the protection mechanism is pretty ineffective. Inspecting the user names it seems they follow patterns, like Name+Number or Name + upper-case letters which leads me to the conclusion that they are auto-generated. Is there any way to improve this?

Trying to find improvements. Seems as soon as I change the mechanism, they just as quickly circumvent it. Always open to suggestions if anyone has any. In the meantime we do monitor daily for spam etc.

The bogus accounts aren't limited to the wiki. Using Single Sign On is great for the real user who might want to access the wiki, but it will be great for the spammers too
