    Simulation Welding Effect by OpenGL

    Hi Guys
    I am a beginner in OpenGL programming.
    My project is simulation welding effect by using opengl programming as indicated in below youtube file

    I was complete drawing the cubes , rode but I failed to draw welding effect which indicated in vedio when the rod closed to the plate.
    I hope you can help me by code or link
    I am using:
    Windows 7 32 Bit
    VB.net 2010 or C#.net

    Indeed, I need welding effect, I mean when you watched the youtube link, you can notice when the rode closed to plate, the welding effect appair, a light similar to the fire and welding effect appair, the positon translate, and the welding increase linearly.
    So , becuase I am abeginner I would be most thankful if you kindly give me a link to how can draw this effect, I need how can draw welding effect only.
