The Quadro FX 3500 is a G92 chips so you should have no problem to use OpenGL 3.0 with recent drivers

The central page for the Nvidia driver update on Linux is:

    http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=122606

    click on 180.29, you get:

    http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/show....php?p=1927376

    "Release Highlights:
    [...]
Added support for OpenGL 3.0 for GeForce 8 series and newer GPUs"

click on README x86-64, you get:

    ftp://download.nvidia.com/XFree86/Li...DME/index.html

Go to the end of the page and click on "A. Supported NVIDIA GPU Products", you get:

    ftp://download.nvidia.com/XFree86/Li...ppendix-a.html

    Quadro FX 3500 is listed.
