SDL 1.2 (Which file do I download?)

I wanted to try using SDL instead of GLUT.

But i'm pretty new with linux, so I'm not sure which file to download.

I'm running Linux Mandrake 8.1, and I normally use GNOME, but sometimes KDE.

SDL is mandrake distro so you do not have to download anything if you have all CDs.

    If I remember right it's lib-SDL* . (should be 1.2 version, check )

In http://nehe.gamedev.net/ there are some SDL ports for his tutorials.
Get one and try to compile it.
