    OpenML

Probably have most of you seen the OpenML annoncument. I do not know what to think about it...

It seems to extends the native window system in the same way as OpenGL. This is not a wrapper like GLUT. Has anyone any experience with a similar designed multimedia library?

One good thing is if it will be possible to configure the display with the same standard functions. I guess marcus256 agrees.

Here is the URL if anyone missed it http://www.khronos.org/openml/index.html

Some of the things that I am thinking of:
    - when will an implementation be available on linux?
    - are companies like nvidia and ATI really going to release this on windows? (Remember that they are not distributing an updated OpenGL DLL)

It's not their fault that no updated OpenGL DLL is available. The OpenGL DLL is part of the operating system and therefore subject to M$ copyright. It can't be altered by another company than Microsoft.
