text display library and effects

Hello 3d gurus !
I need something like a 3D Opengl Text display and effects ,
with fonts (vector and/ord bitmaped ) , eventually with textured fonts and so on ...

Is there something like that out there ? anybody know a lib ?

I've found something at romka.demonews.com but unfortunatly, the author can't be joined !! (too busy maybe)
