Re: Official feedback on OpenGL 4.2 thread

Direct state access is there at AMD and NVIDIA drivers. I also agree that it would be nice to have it in core, but I'm pretty sure the issue is that additing direct state access would require a lot...

Re: RenderMonkey inspired GLSL editor for linux?

Put your code in git repo (or any other dvcs), under FLOS license and there will be folk who will help.

Re: Adding OpenGL extensions on Linux (Ubuntu)

    Hi! Your problem is prosaic:
    GL_MESA_ycbcr_texture,
MESA means that you use MESA OpenGL implementation (though they can not use OpenGL name). Those drivers are fairly good for daily use BUT they...

Re: OpenGL 3.2 in OSX 10.7

Apple is silent about compatibility mode.

But you can still use 2.1.

Re: Functions to deprecate. GL 4.2

Why do you need lines with bigger width?

And why can not you implement missing features as separate libraries on top of core?

If Apple implement only core 3.2, I'll be against! It should be 4.1...

Re: Questions about how OGL specs are created.

    @Aleksandar

Well, if someone thought about defining spec syntax and layout, putting all new definitions in separate extension, and defining which extensions go to which profiles and OGL versions....

Re: Questions about how OGL specs are created.

I would like to reuse code that generate bindings for every extension, as much as possible.

No i know that i can not simply download list of extensions for OGL X.Y, and load corresponding...

Re: Questions about how OGL specs are created.

I do not mean bugs free, but just practice that glext.h will be updated every time there is new OGL spec. in timly manier.

Hmm, if they would get updated "before" publicating new OGL version, it...

    Re: shader code

What x and y offsets? Define them.

Do not tell what they are but simply define them in your shader code.

Questions about how OGL specs are created.

    1) Is there somewhere a list of opengl extensions that compose given OGL version?
    2) Is there any algorythm for name conversions when extensions get included?
    3) Is there any guarantee, that all...

    before glewInit

BTW do you use GLEW? FreeGLUT is not enought to have api of opengl loaded! (on Win you need to load pointer to every OpenGL function from .dll,...

    Re: Version of OpenGL

    glGetString(GL_VERSION);

Is a good way to check gl version but AFTER creating opengl context. Extensions are queried by similar method. Look at Java bindings docs.

There can be many ways to achieve this effect.

You can draw your line first, then turn off depth test and then draw your box. (So box pixels will override any line pixels even though line pixels...

    Language bindings following OpenGL spec?

Is there any language binding that support OpenGL 4.x? (or every extension that is part of OGL4.x spec)

Language in question is not important (it can be even Brainfuck ;) )

    Re: SDL 1.3 and GLEW

    How exactly glew works?
After idwakest code, will I get only opengl 3.2 set of functions? Or all supported by driver?

Eg. how to get OGL4.1 (Core Profile if possible), with SDL and with glew.
