I don't think you understood exactly. Without seeing your code it's difficult to verify, but it seems you should be doing:
// Draw teapot
glEnable( GL_DEPTH_TEST );
glDepthMask( GL_FALSE );...
...with the caveat that Kevin Bacon could be anywhere in between them!
java -Djava.library.path=<path to jogl.dll>
I believe the default location it looks for jogl.dll is in the same directory as jogl.jar.
I stand by my answers.
You would too if you knew how cute they were.
You are missing a key handling function (for using the arrow keys to modifying the translation increments). The idle function (spin sphere) should then update the translation values using those...
Variables with "gl" in their name work better in Open"GL".
The matrix used to view models.
The matrix used to view projections.
A few degrees.
I can't see why one would expect that. If we learned anything from 3.0 it's that GL expectations are fantasies.
3.1 will be a good test of whether the ARB will actually be productive in the...
Maybe OpenGL has an identity crisis: Is is a low level API, conforming to what's available in the hardware? Or is an a "higher-level scene construction" API? Would there be any benefit to...
My "feature request" is simply insight into the working group. Rob, you have done an immense about of positive "PR" in this regard with your regular participation in this forum. Thanks!
My...
Given the age of that benchmark it should only be used as an indicated of the difference between consumer-level and professional grade hardware. The Quadro FX 1400 is based on >4 year old...
It's a new year and ~5 months since the GL3 spec was released. How's that newsletter coming? Or better yet, how's anything coming along?
I think it comes down to what your budget might be. A good sub-$100 card can be had in the NV GeForce 8800 series. $100-$200, the GeForce 9800 series. $200-$500 GT2x0 series. $500+ Quadro series...
Their driver model integration concept with OpenGL must have failed after SIGGRAPH '08. Still on their website: "The OpenGL 3.0 API will be very different from OpenGL 1.x/2.x."
So, if you don't support everything, you're considered to not support anything? How does that logic work?[/QUOTE]
Um, in the next sentence you list exactly what's missing from core GL3 that would...
I was opining against the utility of GL3 especially with regards to ATI. I brought up extensions as they are the biggest unknown with ATI. And if they're written against GL3 then 2.1 users may lose...
You say potato... Beta is "out" compare to ATI. And who knows which extensions they'll include and whether they'll be written against 2.1 or 3.0. Not a situation I bet programming hours on.
...
I found entertaining that the extensions released when GL3 was release were all written against 2.1.
The only reason to move to GL3 is if you are required to program to a standard, meaning you...
For the same reason you keep finding yourself coming back to this forum: Entertainment!
Never hurts to ask and force someone on the ARB to respond. Better than having to wait ~8 months for a...
I would love to get the unofficial, leaked, behind the scenes gossip! Like I said, it would make a great book. Either as a historical perspective of the "great" competitor to D3D as well as the...
I'm bored with all this 'spec' stuff. What's entertaining in OpenGL world is how the ARB stumbles around. Take a bunch of good game developers (by reputation of their employers) and a bunch of big...
How about an Off Topic forum?
Yay! An informal status update!
Still, during the course of a year of OpenGL3.0-Longs Peak Edition, there managed to be 4 newsletters cranked out. Sure, a newsletter might take up someone's...
The ARB is still on vacation after their laborious 2 year work on 3.0. Or at least their 6 month corrective dance to get something out. It's tiring in crunch mode!
Expect a Newsletter when the...
Oh, and just to comment on the word "would". It doesn't exist in, for example, Italian. The closest translation is "maybe". "Should" feels correct to non-native speakers because of this.
In...
