I have read this post on this forum (http://www.opengl.org/discussion_boards/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=288922)
and subsequently downloaded the latest sample pack from
http://oglsuperbible5.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/
using SVN.
This solved some of the problems, however most of the later examples still don't work.
I am especially interested in Chapter 10 'order independent transparency', which when compiled, reports a GL Error within the command window.
Does anyone know how to fix this example (and the others after this)? - visual studio stops on line relating to textures in the example.
