Mesa early version source code?

Hello,everyone
Recently I'm lost in reading the source code of Mesa3d version 3.1 . There are just two many lines of codes.
So,anybody has a copy of early version Mesa(like version 2.2) or can you give me some suggestions for understanding the source code?
