iam really new to linux and opengl and feel a
bit weak riht now to look for it myself.
Is open gl platform independent??can i right code in windows and compile it under linux??

Not really... OpenGL looks mostly the same, but not the window-handling stuff. Some of Nehe's OpenGL win-tuts have been ported to Linux (nehe.gamedev.net).

You can do it if you are using GLUT, SDL or similar library together with OpenGL.
