Just to let you know I've uploaded an OpenGL version of the Toon Shader demo from Nvidia's DX effects browser.
Uses Vertex Programs under OpenGL! http://www.opengl.org/discussion_boards/ubb/smile.gif
Outline texture is not perfect. Will fix that soon. But thats not really that important.

It uses 7.17.
You can grab it from my website too, for win2k and win9x. (I've never tested it under win9x!!!!!!)
I'll point out again, that those drivers are leaked, and you are using them are your own risk. Dont come crying to me or nvidia if your computer blows up! http://www.opengl.org/discussion_boards/ubb/smile.gif
That said I've never had any problems with them.
The point is, the actual mechanics of how it works is there for everyone to look at.

You can save the MOV o[HPOS],R1; instruction if you use o[HPOS] instead of R1 in the projection.

If you want it - you'll find it.
You just need to know where to look... http://www.opengl.org/discussion_boards/ubb/wink.gif

Thanks Relic!
I've made a few other changes too.
got the material colors used now, so it's not all one color, and fixed the outline texture.
I'll upload the new version today sometime.

How bizarre.
I definitly put them up.
Either
a) they accidentally got deleted or
b) someone told my host to remove them.
I'm uploading them again now.

Hi Nutty !
Only nVidia would be interested in b) and I doubt they would prevent you from putting those drivers on your site (they are everywhere and, actually, we are interesting beta-testers for those 'leaked' drivers !).
You might have deleted them !
Regards.

True, true.
Though I am certain I never removed them.
unless my web synchronizer went mad and did it. most probable cause.
Gonna have a go at porting the membrane thingy next.

I install the drivers just fine, and at restart windows complains that he cannot detect the video board, and uses 800x600x 16 colors.

Don't know if this is of any help, since I don't got a Nvidia card to test at the moment, but if those drivers are full sets, then what you could do is just get the opengl driver files, and copy them to the system32 (or system) directory.
I do this all the time with new version of the openGL driver for my ATI Rage 128 card. (for example, ATI's openGL driver is called "atio2kaa.dll" (for win2k) atio9xaa.dll for win9x systems.) So I just copy it over and all is well. http://www.opengl.org/discussion_boards/ubb/smile.gif

I've got the 7.17 drivers installed (from another place) and they work great!
Your demos run also great (nice work) on my PIII 500 with 128 MB SDRAM and a GeForce2 MX.

You can only safely copy over the OpenGL driver on Win9x (and then not all the time). On Win2K, it's usually impossible to replace the OpenGL driver without replacing the display driver.

Well the 2k ones work fine on my geforce 256. So it sounds like they dont like Geforce 2's much?
Anyone with a Geforce 2 managed to get them drivers/demos working?
