This borders on cross-posting and I will never do it again however, I just made a post to "OpenGL coding: beginners" titled
"OpenGL as foundation for windowing system"
because I am a beginner with OGL.
However, I suspect that to answer my question it will require expert knowledge of how OpenGL works.
