Also my new demo (my small little plug http://www.opengl.org/discussion_boards/ubb/smile.gif) http://area3d.net/story.php?id=302

Those lucky few that have a 9700 now (like me http://www.opengl.org/discussion_boards/ubb/biggrin.gif) might get some use out of this.

Happy coding.

NitroGl, that's not fair!

I haven't looked at the extension specs yet but from what I have seen in your demo, ARB_vertex_programs are looking great! I'm looking forward for the NVidia driver implementation to try them out http://www.opengl.org/discussion_boards/ubb/smile.gif

The new nVidia drivers (40.41) that have just been released now support it.

Here are the Win2k/XP: http://www.nvidia.com/view.asp?IO=winxp-2k_40.41

Thanks for posting the news!

argh, the new nVidia drivers (40.41) sucks with 2 cards, OpenGL uses the PCI card (GeForce2 MX) instead of the AGP card (GeForce3), even if I change the primary monitor tick box!

nitroGL, what other extensions does your card have?

Did you guys read about the R300 @
www.tomshardware.com (http://www.tomshardware.com)

The memory chips look tiny, and just as I thought, it needs a extra power supply for that bastard of a VPU! Right Nitro?

A lower Mhz version will be out soon (non Pro)

Yup. I don't mind the connector, but it's only needed if it's running on AGP 4x, on 8x it doesn't need the extra power.

I submitted a report to Delphi3d.net: http://www.delphi3d.net/hardware/viewreport.php?report=485

Yeah, but where is the ATI_fragment_program they talked about in their SIGGRAPH papers? I only see ATI_fragment_shader.

I think that's still in testing. The ICD it self has the entry points for ATI_fragment_program, but it just doesn't expose the string.

I hope they release the spec for it soon, I'm wondering if it will have the same limitations that nVidia's floating point stuff has (like no mipmapping, or filtering).
