Bow waves / stern wake effects

Can anyone direct me to some good sample code that demonstrates how to render realistic bow waves and/or stern wakes from a ship, on a dynamic ocean surface?

I believe that www.gamasutra.com (http://www.gamasutra.com) had a good article on generating different types of waves. Basically it was one big ocean simulator and I believe it showed how to do collisions such as with a boat. I don't remember for sure but check it out, do a search.
