What the heck is a GLUT_BUTTONS_BOX,
a GLUT_NUM_BOX_BUTTONS,GLUT_NUM_DIALS?
What devices do these constants refer to?

I think they are refering to some advanced input devices that you do not find on a common PC system. The same for spaceball.
