Hardware Acceleration In OpenGL

ok, i need some help with this, anything will work (reference material, book names, a gun,etc, etc)..
i have a ton of opengl tutorials and extra material but i need to know how to start programming opengl _in java_ using my video hardware to render the images. i might be way over my head but.... _any_ help would be appreciated

He has good tutorials there. Some of them have ports to the Java language, especially the early ones.
