hello all,

I've been reading portions of the red and blue books online version, and I'd like to purchase a book to supplement my reading.

What would you recomend for a noob?

I don't have any "exact" areas of interest just general "learning opengl"

I'm using linux at the moment.

thanks

The redbook has quite a lot in it, if you are interested in making a game and even if you are not, I'd recommend finding a book on game programming as its mostly an entirely different subject.

Having controls and hit detection is great while you are learning how to make a better graphics engine. Other topics that I think would come later are lighting, real-time effects, the openGL shader language, and lighting again.
