Version confusion - need a clue

I have the Red Book for vers 1.2.

I am running Windows 2000 with OGL for Windows vers 2.

I see that you can download version 1.1.

How do I go about acquiring the latest version of OpenGL. 1.2. Will it run on Windows 2000 or is 1.2 solely a IRIX version.

Please advise.

From what I know, there is no implementation of opengl 1.2 on windows yet. There is only version 1.1.

But some video cards supports some 1.2 specs through extension(ex: multitexture) and so you can use them.
