fading cube

Hi guys,

Probably a really simple one! made this small cube 12 by 12 in ortho mode. Problem is the cube keeps fading a regular intervals. Haven't set any effects to do this. Any idea why????

By using the word fading, do you mean it get darker? or transparent?
Is this cube rotating when it does this?
