Layered 3D Content Demo

Hey all, I had this idea to create a program that demonstrates that it is possible to create windowless 3D content on the desktop under Windows 2000 and greater.

The result is layered butterflies (http://www.codebot.org/articles/?doc=9498) . A simple demo just to get the point across.

The transparent-windowless effect doesn't work on my machine.

I can see a moving solid black rectangle around the butterfly.

using geforce 6200 with 93.71 driver on windows XP

Yes, I have the same problem on another PC. One fix might be to try increasing your desktop color depth to 32 bit. Other than than, if anyone can suggest what might be the problem, I'd appreciate some insight.
